AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS.
There was excellent weather today for the annual athletic sports mccl of the Chrislchurch Boys' High School, held on the Hagley Park cricket ground. II was clear and bright, with a cooling breeze from the north-east, bid the wind had some effect on the runners. The rain of the early morning did not have much effect on the ground—which was in excellent order—except in portions of the middle-dis-tance track, stretches of which were somewhat heavy. The sprint track was in good order. In the events which were got off before the luncheon adjournment, L. S. Woods established a good lead for the Senior Challenge C'.ip, which was won last year by A. D. Tench. He scored 18 points, while D. M. Inglis and G. C. Austin ranked next with 10 points each. Results:—
