LODGE MEETINGS
The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal i Benevolent Lodge was held on Monday i night in the hall, Montreal Street. N.G.J Bro. E. Allen presided over a fair attendance. r.F.G.M. Bro. R. O'Brien, I | Buckingham District, Ilobart, was also; | present. The sick visitors reported six i members on the lodge funds and one declared off. Correspondence was received from Bro. Saudrv, and the secretary was instructed to reply explaining matters. f'.G. Bro. Hubbard wrote donating £2 to a distressed brother. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the brother for his generous gift. The C.S. of the New Zealand branch wrote regarding the appropriation of surplus funds, and it was decided to apply forthwith for £7<)o. B.C. Bro. W. B. Browne resigned the position of sickvisitor. Bro. Clements was elected in his place. A hearty vote of thanks was recorded in the minutes for the services rendered by B.C. Bro. W. B. Browne. The North Canterbury District wrote, stating that a church parade would be i held on October 29 at St. Saviour's; Church; also with regard to a remit to i the I!M7 conference to alter district; rule 7, clause ... The name of Bro. W.J W. French, who is going into camp, was! ordered to be placed on the roll of lion-1 our. Bro. French is the sixth member: of the lodge to join the Reinforcements.; Owing to the general business taking' up the time, the debate on "Social In-' surance" was adjourned till next lodge; night. Accounts for £7O 3/8 were pass-; ed for pavmeut, and the receipts were! £l6 5/6.
