THE MIGHT OF BRITISH SEA POWER.
GERMANS NEVER RIGHTLY ESTIMATED IT.
EOW COMPELLED TO DO SO
"The Times'' Service. (Received October 5, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 4. A correspondent in Amsterdam states that the German Press is pointing out that the campaign which smashed Serbia and opened up Constantinople caused Germany to underestimate the influence of British sea power on the Continental war. The "Tages Zeitnng" declares that the Germans are now realising how the British sea power holds the Allies together, enabling the victorious prosecution of the war. The "Yolks Zeitnng," commenting on the same subject, adds: —"The Germans never rightly estimated the strength of the British Empire. Now, unfortunately, we are compelled to do so."
