At a meeting of the committee of the above branch, it was reported that, now the holiday season is over, the work is being taken up with enthusiasm. The district being canvassed is that bounded by Hereford Street on the north, Fitzgerald Avenue on the west, railway line on the south, Elisor's and Aldwin's Roads on the east. Most of the collectors have been around their blocks, and have in many instances met with a generous response. Unfortunately, owing to the Christmas vacations, many families were absent, and were missed by the canvassers. The following are the official collectors: —A. Steeds, E. Mapplebeck, 11. Fehsenfelt, Geo. Pearce, ,1. M. Work, A. Boon, J. Richards, S. J. Archbold, G. Macdonald, A. Grant, H. Anderson, A. Roberts, D. Richardson, W. Keighlev, B. Wacher, W. Crow, E. Muxlow, L. W. Ormandy, H. Woodham, H. Ardley, E. Clarkson, H. Burson, R. Rodgers, I']. Clark, W. Craze, E. Grant, Archdeacon Ensor, Rev. H. A. Job, and F. D. Stokes. The above gentlemen will be pleased to receive any further Contributions. RED CROSS FUND. The committee of the Red Cross Society will be glad if all those who are making 4in bandages in their own homes will reduce the length from 8 yards to 6 yards. It has been found necessary to make this alteration, and the society has asked the branch depots to conform to it. A large consignment of air-tight jamtins for sending to the hospitals in Egypt arrived at the Red Cross Depot yesterday morning, and already many intending jam-makers have given orders. The tins are to be bought at a small figure, and detailed instructions are given for sealing them down.
