ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SUICIDE. A single man, named John Hamilton, about 45 years of age, employed as a ! farm labourer by Mr P. Kushton, of ! Springfield, committed suicide by bangling himself from a small tree on Saturj day night. He was last seen alive at 'lO o'clock on Saturday morning, when he appeared quite normal. The body \ was discovered on Sunday morning. An .inquest was held by Mr G. F. Wright, I J.P. (Acting-Coroner) and a jury of 'six, and a verdict of suicide while in I a state of temporary insanity was returned. MOTOR CAR FATALITY. ' An enquiry concerning the death of Henry Halliday, who was killed in a motor ear accident near Temuka on ' Saturday afternoon, was held by Mr V. '■ G. Day (Coroner) at Temuka yesterI day. The Coroner returned a verdict | that death was due to injuries received j in a motor car accident, there being no proof of negligence by any person. A BROKEN LEG. I Arthur Mazey, stock-driver, 22 years of age, residing at 57 Fitzgerald AveInue, was walking in a paddock behind i the Bromley School last night, when he fell and broke his left leg below the knee. He was removed to the Hospital. YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH. Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 1. Mary Murray, aged 34, wife of a ganger on the railway, was killed this morning during shunting operations in the railway yards at Stirling.
