The lottery in connection with the Southland Queen Carnival was drawn yesterday. After innumerable difficulties had been overcome, the Tasmanian Government granted Tutlersall's permission for the drawing, which took place inthepresence of Government, Press, and police representatives. The tickets sold totalled 208,149, which realised £26,018. Mr C. 11. Hughes, secretary of the Union Steam 'Ship Company, Dunedin, drew the prizes on behalf of subscribers.
