"BORN TOO SOON."

A GENEROUS FARMER. Press Association. HASTINGS, January 31. The following letter is published in the "Tribune" to-day:— 1 enlisted, was accepted, and passed the doctor as absolutely fit, but was notified to-day that my application to join the N.C.O. camp had been rejected through my being born 18 months too soon. Being now deprived of the proud distinction of lighting for my King and country, 1 ask your acceptance of £250, which 1 trust will be of some assistance to the brave boys who are nobly fighting on our behalf. The letter is from Mr F. G. Nelson, farmer, of Whakamaramara.
