THE BAKERS' AWARD.

AN AMICABLE SETTLEMENT. FIVE SHILLINGS ADVANCE IN WAGES. The Master Bakers' Association and the employees union have arrived at a settlement of their industrial dispute. The settlement is very much on the lines of the old award, with the exception that a 5/- per week advance in wages has been conceded. Both parties were anxious to arrive at a settlement without a reference to the Arbitration Court, and the result is regarded as mutually satisfactory. The price of bread will not be affected as a result of the increased wages. The new award will come into force on the 10th inst.
