TWO MORE VICTIMS.
JAPANESE STEAMER SUNK, ONLY 100 SAVED FROM BIG BRITISH VESSEL. (Received January 4, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, January 3. The Japanese steamer Konkon Maru has been sunk. All on board were saved. The British steamer Glengyle has also been sunk. One hundred of those on board were saved. Lloyd's Register contains a list of six vessels called Konkon Maru, each being identified by a different number. They range in size from 1867 tons to 4777 tons, but the cable message does not state which one of them has been sunk. The Glengyle was a steel screw steamer of 9000 tons, built in 1014 by Hawthorn, Leslie, & Co., Ltd., Newcastle, for McGregor, Gow, & Go.
