A REGIMENT SUGGESTED.

CROATIANS IN NEW ZEALAND. Press Association, * AUCKLAND, December 1. Bartel Mihalfevic, a native of Dalmatia, and late editor of the newspaper "Zora," has written to Lord Liverpool Urging that a special Croatian regiment be formed in New Zealand for service in Serbia. Already, 40 Croatian volunteers in the Whangam district have intimated their willingness to enlist if the New Zealand Government will accept their services. Mr Massey has replied as follows;

"I much appreciate the patriotic spirit which prompted you to offer yourselves for the defence of your country, I shall be glad to confer with the Minister of Defence, with a view to seeing, whether it is possible to give effect to your request."
