ADDINGTON MARKET.

LOWER PRICES RULE. STORE SHEEP EASIER. There were large yardings of stock of all descriptions at the Addington yards to-day, and generally lower prices ruled in nearly all the sales. Store sheep, in consequence of the very drying weather lately, suffered considerably and prices fell. Fat sheep were yarded far in excess of requirements, and were easy at the commencement. Fat cattle sold a trifle below late rates, and the poorer descriptions of beef suffered most. STORE SHEEP.

Since the early winter sales sheep 'were never yarded in such large I numbers as to-day. All classes were [well represented, and as usual there , was a fair number of inferior sheep. {From the outset of the sale the demand was exceedingly .slack, and sales were hard to make, most vendors being unprepared for the depreciation that occurred, judging by the reserve placed upon stock. Only good classes of forward wethers jwere at all sought after. Hoggets were down in price fully 2/- per head, and other classes in proportion. Two-tooth wethers, 7/9 to 10/6. Two-tooth eVes, 11/- to 15/-. Forward four and six-tooth wethers, 17/11 to 20/6. Other four and six-tooth wethers, 15/2 to 17/4. Two, four, and six4ooth forward ewes, 17/3. M.s. two tooths, 10/6 to 11/8. Woolly s.m. ewes and lambs, 12/11. Aged ewes and lambs, 7/- to 9/-. Shorn merino ewes and lambs, 3/5. Fairly good woolly hoggets, 15/to 16/9.; Dalgety and Co., Ltd., sold: On account clients t'96 four and sixtooth wethers 17/11, 177 folir-tooth wethers 15/2, 79 two-tooth ewes 11/-, 174 two-tooth halfbred wethers 9/2, 140 four and six-tooth wethers 17/4, 44 two-tooth wethers 7/9, 49 four and eight-tooth wethers 15/-. Pyne and Co. sold: On account clients 24 two, four, and six-tooth-ewes 17/3, 56 two-tooth ewes 15/-, 135 s.m. ewes and 144 lambs 9/-, 14 m.s. two-tooths 11/8, 64 four and six-tooth halfbred wethers 19/6, 60 four and six-tooth withers 17/10,155 four-tooth wethets 19/6. The New Zealand Farmers' Cooperative Association, Ltd., sold: On account clients 14 shorn merino ewes and 14 lambs 3/5 (all counted), 33 four and six-tooth wethers 18/7, 29 m.s. two-tooths 9/6, 13 s.m. woolly ewes and 13 lambs 12/11 (all counted), 19 woolly hoggets 16/9, 122 wether hoggets 15/-, 53 six and eight-tooth ewes apd 58 lambs 7/-. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., sold: On account clients, 224 four and six-tooth wethers 18/1, 208 four and six-tooth halfbred wethers 13/$. FAT LAMBS. Again there was an over-supply of fat lambs, and prices suffered in consequence, there being a decline of 1/- per head. Prime lambs made from 19/- to 24/6, and others from 12/- to 18/6. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. sold: On account R. Fleming (Mitcham), 10 15/to 16/11. FAT CATTLE. Some 217 head of fat cattle were yarded, as compared with 230 head last week, 307 on November 17, and 381 on November 3. Prices were easier to the extent of 1/6 per hundred. - / Quotations are:— Extra prime steers, to £2l. Ordinary steers, £7 17/6 to £l3 10/Extra prime heifers, to £ll 12/6. Ordinary heifers, £7 7/6 to £lOlO/- " Extra prime cows, to £ls. Ordinary cows, £6 to £9 10/-. Price of beef per 1001b, 30/- to 52/-, extra to 58/-.
