ITALIANS AT WAR.

FIGHTING INCREASES IN SEVERITY. DESTRUCTION AT GORIZIA. General Gadorna reports: "Repeated Austrian counter-attacks on the heights north-west of Gorizia did not prevent us from consolidating the positions captured by us. "The' fighting on the Carso yesterday increased in severity along the ridge descending from the northern slopes of Monte San Michele towards the Isonzo. The enemy by a sudden assault captured the ridge, but our men re-took it and finally consolidated their position." VIENNA, November 27.

An official communique says: "Italian heavy shells and incendiary bombs are falling into the town of Gorizia, which is being systematically shot to pieces. The damage to buildings is estimated at 26,000,000 crowns (£1,300,000). ROME, November 27.
