Hughes is in receipt of a cable from the Foreign Office, stating that the aggregate number of British and Australasian prisoners of war in Turkey does not exceed 450.

It is understood that the Foreign Office is constantly in touch with the Turkish Red 1 Crescent Society on the subject of the treatment of prisoners.
