A NOVEL WEAPON.
THE THREE BLADED DAGGER. BRITAIN NOW PARAMOUNT IN BOMBS AND GRENADES. (Received October 23, .8.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 23. Captain Browne!!, of the Worcestershire Regiment, who was wounded in Flanders, has been appointed, to the staff of the Duntroon Military. College. lie states that everyone on the eastern front is now armed with a three-bladed dagger, with a wooden-grip like the top of a shovel. One blade protrudes between the fingers, and on either side protrudes another longer blade. With the frontal blade the soldier drives straight forward, and with the others, he stabs backwards or uppercuts. The weapon is splendid for in-fighting. Captain Brownell describes a number of new types, in expensive high explosives and most destructive bombs, adding that Britain is now the paramount Power so far as bombs and hand grenades are concerned. She has a number of surprises in these lines- up her sleeve, which she will shortly spring upon the foe.
