A German communique states:— Our troops, after some lighting, have occupied Mitau (Courland Province). The town, on the whole, was not damaged. We stormed Height No. 180, to the north-east of Suwalki. Our troops to the north-west of Lomza, reached the Narew and, after an obstinate resistance, we took 1000 prisoners. Advancing on the remainder of the Vistula front we took SGO prisoners. The situation before Warsaw is unchanged. v In the south-eastern theatre our troops, under General von Woyrsh have advanced amid heavy fighting through a good district. Eastward of Podzanneze we captured 1500 men and eight machine guns. The Austrians- are closing round Tvangorod. The Russains are still engaging General von Mackensen. We gained success to the e.ast of Kurow, taking (100 prisoners. Our pursuit of the enemy to the north-east of Cholm continues. The Austrians crossed the Bug to the south-west of Wlaimirivolynski.
