EXPORT OF BUTTER.

THE PROHIBITION. Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 6. Mr J. R. Scott, secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, interviewed regarding the butter supply, said that the forbidding of the export of butter was the formal enforcement of the principle laid down weeks ago. There had been no exporting of butter in anything like large quantities since February, and there was none to export unless they left their customers without the but T ter wanted for immediate consumption. As a matter of fact, New Zealand was importing butter just now. The Remuera brought butter from London (New Zealand butter), and the Niagara brought butter from 'Frisco.
