LATE PERSONALS.
The Rev. E. A. Kirwood, president of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, has accepted a call to South Yarra, Melbourne.—Press Association. Mr John McPherson, Wellington City Forester, died suddenly this morning. He was a native of Scotland, from ! which. country ho arrived about two years ago. At one time he occupied the position of forester to a large estate in Scotland. —Press Association wire. | The. funeral of the late Mr : T. A. Murphy took place this morning, and was largely attended by friends and I members of, the. sports and other bodies | with which deceased had \been connected. The Veterans' and West Christchurch Cricket Clubs, to both of which deceased had acted n9 secretary for many years, were well represented, as Was also the Masonic brotherhood, an active member of which deceased had been for nearly 40 years. The Grand Lodge was represented by R.W; Bro. J. J. Dougall, the Civic Lodge-by. W.M. Bro. Borthwick, and the Unanimity Lodge of Lyttolton by a number of brethren. Floral tributes were placed upon the grave by the Civic and Unanimity Masonic Lodges, Veterans' and West" Ohristchureh Cricket Clubs, Bland Miss Marks, Mr and Mrs Graham j Roberts, Mr* T. H. Labatt, Mr and Mrs j E. P. Turner, Mrs Ehrenf ricd, Mrs and j Miss Coleman, Mr A. W. Cook, Mr F. and Mrs Jones (New Plymouth), and i Mrs C. Louisson. The Customs Depart-, meiit, a servant oi' which the deceased '■ Had been tor 4,'J years, was represented j by Mr Cordery. The funeral service was .conducted by the Rev. W. Bean, and the Masonic ritual was read by W.M. 1:\ Stcans, of the Civic Lodge. j
