HOCKEY.

LADIES' ASSOCIATION. j The Canterbury Ladies' Hockey Association met on Saturday night, the Mayoress (Mrs Holland) presiding. Mrs Holland presented the Senior Shield to Miss Myrtle Pearce, captain of the Hinemoa Club, winners of the competition, and the Junior Cup to Mrs MacJarrow, captain of the Sydenham Club, winners of the junior competition. Miss Pearce was also presented with a ball, suitably mounted, which had been used in the match between Canterbury and England. Mr J. Chatfield, coach to the association, was presented with a photograph of the Canterbury representative team. The following selection committees were appointed: —Seniors: Misses M. Pearce and M. Day and Mr C. Wykes; Juniors: Miss D. Hart and Mr J. Chatfield.

Miss Day (the secretary) was appointed a delegate to attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association, to be held in Wellington on Wednesday. Miss M. Pearco announced that the Hinemoa Club was disbanding and had decided to purchase a cup with the funds in hand and present it to the association for the six-a-side Senior tournament on Juue 3.
