CRICKET.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. The. General Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association met last evening, Mr A. Cant in the chair. There were also present Messrs E. U. Caygill, W. Winsor, W. L. King, and E. E. Craw-, shaw' (secretary). The N.Z. Cricket Council wrote, asking for a list of cricketers who had joined the Expeditionary Forces. After considerable discussion it was decided that the players who had failed to put in an appearance on tho second day of the Belgium benefit match be asked to furnish their reasons for absenting themselves after having participated in the game on the first day.
CITY AND SUBUBBAN. The Lin wood Wanderers Club members have decided to celebrate the ■wind-up of the season with a smoko, with song and story, on May 1. A committee consisting of Messrs Campbell, Harry Peters, and the secretary (11. Williams) were appointed to complete the arrangements. Mr Alt'. Peters, captain of the senior eleven, was appointed to rcceiv'o the shield at the smoke concert of the association. ►Satisfaction was expressed with the progress being made at the hospital end of the South Park by the Domain Board in providing new ground for the incoming season.
