RED AND BLACK ASSOCIATION.
The Red and Black Association held a social evening on Saturday, when the prizes won in the McCully Cup competitions for the season were presented. It was remarked that' three winners of the cup were absent with the Expeditionary Force —Messrs M. O. Moore, R. H. Brownlee, and the present holder, Mr R. F. Gudgeon. The prize-winners during the season are as follow: —440 Yards: R. F. Gudgeon 1, T. N. Wallace 2. Go-as-you-please race round Hagley Park: A. Greenfield 1, E. V. Phillips 2. Go-as-you-please race on Cashmere Hills: R. F. Gudgeon 1, E. V. Phillips 2. Second Go-as-you-please race on hills: T. Waddell 1, E. V. Phillips 2. Musical items were contributed during the evening by Messrs W. Jones, T. Lawrence, E. V. Phillips, J. A. Jewell, L. J. Rowley, and R. J. Hobbs. Numerous toasts were honoured, chief mong them being "Members Away with the Expeditionary Forces," "The Christchurch Football Club," and "Donor of McCully Cup."
