MINER'S TERRIBLE INJURIES. RECORD DAMAGES AWARDED. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Received December 18, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 18. The High Court has awarded to Alfred Huddy, a miner, £I9OO, record damages, for injuries received by a fall of stone while he was employed at Hampden by the Cloncurry Mining Company. Huddy sustained a fractured skull, both his jaws were broken, three ribs were cracked , and his left leg was shattered, while his right arm was mangled, and had to be amputated. ' Huddy recovered, and is regarded as a miracle of surgery.
