In the House, the question of Sir Geo. H. Reid's re-appointment as High Com-, missioner for one year was discussed. Statements made by Mr Cook and Mr .Glynn shtfw that they had. intended to extend Sir George. Reid's term "for three or five years; but the elections intervened.

Mr Cook said that if-the Libera] Government had known that Sir George Re id was going to be treated in this manner it would have taken care to reappoint him before the dissolution of Parliament. '
