BRITISH AND BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.
ART UNION. The committee in charge of the art union for the Great Britain, Belgium,; and Ireland Belief Fund has been busily engaged sending out books of tickets to likely purchasers on the telephone' list. It is asked that any who have not received books of tickets will apply toMr Mawson Stewart, the hon. secretary, who will be happy to forward books to any desirous of obtaining them. Many fresh and beautiful .prizes have been added to -the collection, and are all still on view at Mr Charles Clark's rooms in Hereford Street. A large number of -tickets were sold during Show Week, but there still remains a quantity to be disposed of, and in order "that the prizes may be .drawn for at .an early date, it is expected that the public will still continue to buy generously. It is hoped to have the money in hand very soon, so as to send it away in time for; help during the terrible winter now so. near at hand in Europe. The many, beautiful and valuable prizes offered should encourage everybody to buy as many tickets as they can possibly afford.' SCHOOL CONCERT. The performance to be given by the school children of Christchurch and suburbs in aid of the Patriotic and Belgian Funds promises to eclipse any of their previous efforts. The Theatre Royal has been kindly granted for Thursday and Friday of next week. Some 200 children will take part. The promoters have been highly successful in securing exceptional talent, and, as the parents are giving every assistance, the funds should be considerably increased.
