CRICKET.

NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A meeting of the Management Committee was held on Wednesday evening. Prosent: Sir Cecil Moon (ejiairman), D. Reese, A. T. Donnelly, G. T. Weston, A. Hardy (hon. treasurer), and J. S. Barrett (secretary). Correspondence was received from the secretary of the Suva Club cancelling the suggested .tour of the Fiji team. A challenge for the Heathcote Williams Shield was received from the Palmerston North High School, and December 21 and 22 were suggested as suitable dates. A special vote of thanks was accorded to Mr G. F. Francis, the late chairman of the Management Committee. Applications were received for the position of secretary, and Mr Harold Biggs was appointed to the position.
