WAIAU.

Some" little resentment is felt in the Waiau district at the shelving, of the work of installing tlie telephone and 1 exchange. Several subscribers paid a deposit 18' months ago, but work was stepped as soon as the wire from church reached- the post office. The reason alleged is a shortage of material. The matter was laid before Mr G. W, Forces, M.P:, who has promised to bring the* complaint under the notice of the sHon. R. H. Rhodes, Minister of Post and Telegraphs.
