COMMEMORATION TABLET.
IN TRAVELLERS' CLUB. On August 1 last tbe commercial tra« vellers of Christchureh raised by collection the handsome sum of £839 0/9 for the proposed Children's Open-Air Home. In recognition of this the committee of the Home presented the Commercial Travellers - and Warehousemen's Association with a suitably inscribed tablet which lias been placed hi the vestibule, of the Travellers' Club in High Strpet. Last evening this tablet was unveiled bv the Mayor of Christchureh (Mr H. Holland), who in performing the cere-* rnony, congratulated the members of the association on their enterprise and the energy shown in organising the collection and carrying it to successful conclusion. The president of the association, Mr S. A. Orchard, in replying, presented the Mayor with a copy of tho "Australasian' Traveller" containing an account of the collection from the collectors' point of view, and also containing • pliota* graphs of the teams of collectors and a reproduction of the cheque presented to the Open-Air Home Committee.
