SWIMMING.
PATRIOTIC? CARNIVAL.
The Patriotic Swimming Carnival conduct* Led by the Canterbury Centre of the New Zeaj land Swimming Association in the Tepid Baths last evening was a. pronounced success. I There was a large attendance, and the seating accommodation was fully taxed. After the diving competition Mr Nordon invited ; the spectators to throw money into the pool for the swimmers to dive for, and the result was that an additional £1 was added *•' to the fund. It is anticipated that about £3O will be handed-to the Patriotic Fund 1 as a result of the carnival.
