THE TROTTING CUP CANDIDATES.
ALBERT H. Albert H. won the Cup two seasons ago when the going was very heavy, but was amongst the unplaced division in last year's contest. He is one of the best stayers in the race, and since going into J. Bryce's stable at Hornby has quietened down a lot, and is reported to be much more tractable at the post than formerly. He is am'onsffi the most fancied candidates for the coming contest. Amongst his best public performances are:— 1913—Won Courtenay Handicap at Addington. Time, 4min 33sec. 1913—Second in New Brighton Trotting Cup. Time, 4min 42 3-ssec. Albert H. will be driven by J. Bryce.
DENVER HUON. The best performed horse in the Trotting Cup is Denver Huon, the Australian-owned son of Huon Junr. and Lelia. He can muster up a great hurst of speed, and has always come at the right end in his races. On landing in New Zealand a few weeks ago he was sore, but that has now worked off, and his trainer is confident of having him at nearly his best for the big race. His best track achievements in the Dominion are:— 1913—Second in N.Z. Trotting Cup at Addington. Time, 4min 33 2-ssec. 1913—Won New Brighton Trotting Cup. Time, 4mm 36 3-ssec. 1913—Second in President's Handicap, Auckland. Time, 4min 31 l-ssec. 1913 Took two-mile record against time, 4min 28 l-ssec. Denver Huon will be driven by M. Edwards.
