CANADA ON THE ALERT.
PRECAUTION AGAINST INVASION. PRO-GERMAN PRESS WARNED. OTTAWA, November 5. As a result of rumoured German naval raids pending against Canada, precautions have been taken to mine the harbour estuaries and station troops on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. It is reported that the • Government is aware of plots to mine the Bay of Fundy, with the object of interfering with the winter trans-Atlantic service. Pro-German papers have been warned that they will be summarily suppressed if they print ft'T further articles inciting feeling against Britain.
