(From Our. Special Correspondents.) OHOKA. The Rev. B. Metson, of Christchurc«h; has been spending a few days in the district lecturing on behalf of the Methodist Home Mission Fund. His addresses at Ohoka on Monday, Swannanoa on Tuesday, and Horrelville on Wednesday were highly appreciated. Much regret is expressed at the indisposition of the Hon. D. Buddo, and it is hoped he will soon recover and be able to conduct his own campaign for the coming election. The recent rains have made much difference to the prospects of the local crops, and greenness is apparent everywhere. Some who had potatoes well on the way, however, wish they had not been so forward.
