THE BIG ROAD RACE.
TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH.
This year the annual cycle road race from Timaru to Christehurch, which is to be held on Saturday, will be started a little later than usual, in order that the finish shall be at a convenient time for the public. The race is to finish at Plumpton Park, Sockburn, at 3.15 pan.' Special trams will be run from Cathedral Square to Plumpton Park, at intervals from 1.15 p.m. The road race should provide a very close finish, for the average calibre of the riders is high, and the handicapping has met with general approval.
