POLO.

The opening match of the Rangiora Polo Club was played at Rangiora this afternoon between two picked teams, the Reds and the Blacks. ,There was a large number of players and they were given interest in some spectacular play. The reds showed the best combination, though the blacks seemed the stronger team, individually, and from the onlooker's point of view it seemed that better combination enabled the weaker side to win. The captain of the Harwarden team was amongst the players, and there is every probability that the Rangiora Polo Club will take a leading part in cup matches next season.
