MUNICIPAL OFFICERS v. VETERANS. Playing at Sydenham Park on Saturday afternoon, the Veterans' Cricket Club was defeated by the Municipal Officers' team by 116 runs. The municipal men scored 316 runs (A. Batten 57 retired, B. Dunn §4, retired, Cropp 53 retired, Essfelborn 51 retired, Willis 29 not out, C. James 25, Horwell 22). Veterans replied with 200 (McNae 50 retired, Harris 4 6,, Page 42, Barrett 25 not out). ''■'.".,. The North Canterbury Cricket Association's competitions were continued Kowai match, played at Kowai, Swannanoa scored 200 for eight wickets, and then declared the innings closed. Kowai made HO runs for seven wickets. For Swannanoa H. Bennett made 57 and E. Verrall 21. For Kowai, R. Giles scored 35 and A. Thompson 15 not out. Ohoka, playing two men short, scored 56 .'to. Loburn's 158, at Loburn. For Loburn, E. Chambers took eight wickets for 17 runs.
