Though one or two showers fell early in the afternoon, the weather cleared subsequently. The attendance of the public was satisfactory, and everything went off without a hitch. The following are the details *Df the racing:— WAKARI HURDLE ' HANDICAP, of 150 sovs. One mile and a-half. 1 E. J. Massey's Ngatiruanui, by Maniapoto —Secrecy, 11.1 (Stanley Reid) 1 5 Mr Benalla's Lord Frederick, 9.5 (J. Horden) 2 2 W. H. Beverley's Kim, 9.8 (W.. Kings Way and Kim led over the hurd'e in front of the stand, Ngatiruanui and Lord Frederick lying next. Lord Frederick nearly unshipped his rider at the five furlong post. Ngatiruanui ran to the front at the second last hurdle, and won easily by about four lengths. Time, 2min 54sec. TRIAL PLATE, of 100 sovs. Six furlongs. 1 A. At the far turn Findhorn raced up to the leader, the ,pair being two lengths in front of Volspeil, Lion, and Horoscope. Encore a'nd Moulu joined the leaders, Encore being in charge going tip the hill. Moulu led into the straight, but Martius raced up to the leaders, ■ arid was in front as' they reached the distance. Carolus was in charge turning into the straight, but inside the distance Hesione and John Barleycorn had drawn clear from the field, and in a good finish John Barleycorn won by a neck. At the instigation of the stipendiary steward, an enquiry was held by the stewards into a charge that Allen Doone had interfered with Sea Lord. The race was eventually awarded to Sea Lord, Allen Doone being placed second. The decision was come to under part 31, rule 15, of the Rules of Racing.
