FRENCH REINFORCEMENTS WARNED. GALLANT BRITISH CYCLISTS. (Received October 2, 8.45 a.».) PARIS, October 1. French wounded narrate how, during the battle of the Aisne, it became necessary -to warn French reinforcements of an ambush. Two Frenchmen who were signalling were killed, and a British cyclist who dashed forward was shot. Another, following on, was also shot, and a third went at full speed across the inferno, and reached the trench untouched. ;..'■■■ \ - The French commander took from his own tunic a medal won for bravery, and, pinning it on the cyclist ?s eoat, said: "It was given me for saving one life; you have saved hundreds."
