DEPUTATIONS.
WOOLSTON'S WANTS. v ; . A SLOT TELEPHONE. In an interview with the PostmasterGeneral this afternoon, Mr Graham (Mayor of Woolston) asked that a slot telephone be placed at Bad ley. One had been placed some time ago' near the post office, and though the council had no statistics as to whether it had paid or not, they' were of opinion; that a slot telephone was wanted at Badley, which had gone ahead very fast. The private telephone lessees in Badley were bothered to a certain extent by the people wishing to use them, and the ' installation of a slot telephone would be very welcome. The Minister said he did not have a very satisfactory report of the prospects of a slot telephone at Badley. The Badley telephone was one of twenty that he had authorised some time ago, but for reasons which the deputation would understand, he was not now proceeding with the installation of the telephones. If the Woolston people would mention the matter when things became normal again, he would be pleased to consider the question of proceeding with the installation.
