BIFLE CLUB MEETING. At the second annual meeting of the Raiigiora Defence Rifle ' Club, Mr J. Sansom presiding, correspondence was received from Ga.ptain H. B. Wheeler, stating\that the Government had now taken over the land necessary for the new -Rangiora Rifle Range, but considi eration of a grant for the building of a : range would have to be held over. He also stated that it had been decided to ! form into infantry companies, or parts of infantry companies, the rifle clubs throughout the Dominion, and asked for members to b 8 recommended -as commander and sergeant of the platoon into which the club would be formed. It was decided to recommend Mr J. Sutherland as commander, and Mr W. S. Shilton as sergeant. The balance-sheet showed receipts amounting to £32 .15/6, and an expenditure of £3O 1/-, leaving a credit balance of £2 14/6.
