| ' HAGLEY CLUB. W..,W, MORTON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. ' The final of the Hagley Club's championship was played on Saturday over 36 holes, between W. Morton and G. G. Aitken. Morton won 2 up and 1 to play. At the finish of the first eighteen holes Morton was 1 up. Aitken squared at the first hole in the afternoon, and winning the third hole won 1. up. Morton made the score all square at the next, and from this out Aitken neyer again headed his opponent. With a lead of three up and nine to play Morton had been playing very steady golf. Losing :tlie 10th, Morton's lead was reduced to 2 up. A half resulted at the ,11th. Aitken won the 12th, and the 13th \vas halved, leaving Morton 1 up and 5. to play. Playing good golf Morton won the next two holes, increasing his lead to dormy 3. Morton hit a good drive going to the 16tli, followed by a poor drive by Aitken. A half lopped approach by Aitken dropped, fortunately, close to the hole, enabling him to reduce his opponent's lead to dormy 2. A half at the 17th finished the match in Morton's favour by 2 up and 1 to play. The winner; has been showing marked improvement- in all his matches during ; the season.. His previous- success was in the Meare's Challenge Cup, in which he showed good match play form. He was heartily congratulated on his win in the championship. His first round (18 holes) was done in 85, and his second 18 in 84. BOGEY HANDICAP.

The following were the best cards handed in for the Bogey Handicap at Hagley Park to-day:— T. A. B. Bailey, 6 up. I'. A. Laurie, 2 \ip. E. J. Ross, 2 up. J. O. Ainves, 2 up. RICHMOND HILL CLUB. Fryer. Junior Championship.—J. L. Partridge beat T. E. Cook, J. F. Guthrie beat R. H. Modlin, -E. M. Caffin beat C. Denham, A. : Pullen beat A. T. White-Parsons,. C. S. McCully won by default, H. Hill beat W. Raphael, Rev. McKenzie Gibson beat C. C. Hill, R. G. Ecclesfield won by default. The draw for the seini-finals of the Club Championship and the third round of the ■Junior Championship is as follows. All games must be played on or before August 29: — Club Championship.—H. J.
