THE GERMAN MORALE.

PRISONERS INTERROGATED. FOR VALOUR. (Received August .15, 8.30 a.m.) PARIS, August 14. It is officially reported that the War Office interrogated German prisoners and found them ill fed. The morale was mediocre, and none appeared to know why they were mobilised. One replied that it was not the people's war, it was the officers' war. General Joffre has decorated with the Legion of Honour Lieutenant Bruyant who, at the head of seven dragoons, charged thirty Uhlans, killing the officer, and putting the Uhlans to flight with serious losses.
