C.Y.C.
SQUADRON CAMPS.
POINT TO POINT STEEPLECHASE
The following dates have been approved for the squadron camps of the C.Y.C.
"A," October 3 to October 10, at Barry's Bay. <£ B," November 21 to November 28, at Tai Tapu. M C,' October 24 to October 31, at Waddington.
"D,"" September 25 to October 3, at Greta.
These camps are intended to be held, similar to those' held last year, in a central locality, in the areas from which the respective squadrons are drawn. This will obviate inconvenience to employers and employees through attendance at the half and whole day parades during the training year. The only other parades held will be inspection parades at.intervals.
The point to point steeplechases in connection with the Mounted Regiment will be held at Racecourse Hill on Friday, August 14. There will be two events, one open to officers, and the other to non-commissioned officers. The distance will be about three miles. Riders need not necessarily own their mounts, but the horses must have been through a training camp, and the owner must have been efficient for the past year.
Major J. Deans has presented a silver cup for the officers' race, and Major P. II Johnson has given a similar trophy for the non-com. 's event.
