VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. TRAINING OF CADETS. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. SYDNEY, July 9. Senator Millen, Federal Minister of Defence, in a statement regarding the visit of the Australian fleet to NewZealand at the end of the year, said he was unable to fix definite dates until New Zealand's reply was received as to what ports it wished the vessels to touch at. The fleet would leave for New. Zealand, accompanied by the ships now in New Zealand waters, proceeding from Hobart after the annual battle practice.
Regarding the training of New Zealand cadets, Senator Millen stated that he was awaiting information as to how far the building accommodation and the temporary educational and instructional staff of "the Naval College could adequately meet the additional demands created by the proposed admission of New Zealanders, before a final decision was arrived at. The Minister said he was anxious to meet the wishes of the New Zealand authorities in this matter.
