CO-OPERATIVE CONFERENCE.

At the concluding sitting of the conference of delegates from Farmers' Cooperative Associations and representatives of the Farmers!' TJnidn, the committee appointed to draw up ; a report upon a federation scheme submitted the report, which was explained by Mr Newman, and.. was. spoken to by the iii a nagers. present. After a lengthy discussion, Mr Todd moved and Mr Talbot, jun., seconded, that Messrs Relph, Newman, and Leigh Hunt be appointed a sub-committee and requested to draw up a prospectus of the proposed wholesale society, and also prepare a memo, and articles of association for submission to the various asssociations, and subsequently to a conference of the interested institutions. This was carried unanimously. On the motion of Mr Todd, seconded by Mr W. 11. Hume, it was then unanimously resolved that the deliberations of the sub-committee be communicated to the representatives of the co-opera-tive associations present at the conference, and to tliose who were invited to attend. ,

Mr Hill, representative of the Bristol and Dominions producers/ . Association, Ltd., briefly addressed the conference a a to the nature; and scope of his association's operations. The question of the capitalisation of bonuses was discussed at length, the matter having been brought down in the managers' report. It was unanimously resolved, on the motion of the Hon. Mr Anstey, seconded by Mr Chamberlain, that this conference expresses its approval of the principle of the voluntary capitalisation of the'whole or part of the bonuses by the various co-operative associations. Votes of thanks to the .chairman and to Messrs llelph &h<l. .Jahiiesou for the arrangements made for the conference were carried by acclamation, and the coiiferenc'e 1 clbsed.'
