The action in which Frederic Shipman, manager of Madame Nordica's tour in Australia last year, claimed £2OOO damages for alleged slander from Ernest Simmons, pianist of the Nordica Company, resulted in a verdict for defendant.

Shipman will appeal to the High Court.
