CRECHE AND KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting ,of the above was held on Wednesday, Mrs Taylor presiding. Mrs Gill, Wellington,'wrote stating that it had been decided not to hold a conference until Mareji, 1915. A letter was also received from Miss Hull, in which she thanked the committee for the money forwarded towards the Students' Library. On receiving Mrs Millar's report, the committee decided to hold a public meeting in the Elgin Street Hall, Sydenham; to discuss the question of opening a Creche Kindergarten in that part of the district. The meeting will take place on July 1, and Mesdames Chilton, Morton, and Sandstein have been asked to speak. The reports from the three schools were read and adopted.

■Miss Willis stated that in spite of wet weather the average attendance at Pliillipstown had been good. Mothers' subscriptions amounted to £1 16/5, which, added to Mrs Williams's collection, totalled £2 1/5,

A satisfactory report was read from Sunbeam, including an account of a very successful jumble sale, the proceeds from -which amounted to £l7. Mothers' subscriptions amounted to £1

18/8. During the month, Nurse Maude gave a very interesting address to the mothers. Visitors included Mr Allan (Sumner) and Mr Laing. Sydenham reported an average attendance of 70, and mothers' subscriptions 15/9. Miss Russell has been appointed head mistress at Sydenham, with Miss England as head student. Miss Dartnell has been removed to Sunbeam to assist Miss Collinson.

The report from Miss Hull on the work of the students was highly satisfactory. The. treasurer reported h'av-' ing received during the month £96 12/$/ and paid out £53 14/3. The association have arranged to hold their street col- 1 lections on the last Saturday in August or the first in September.
