WELLINGTON COMMANDEB. • • Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 22. Major F. E. Johnston, of the Imperial Army, at. present on furlough from India, has been appointed Officer Commanding the Wellington District, vice Colonel Chavtor, appointed AdjutantGeneral of the New Zealand * Forces. Major Johnston is a son of the Hon. C. J. Johnston, of Wellington, and joined the North Staffordshire Begiment in 1891 and served in the Soudan aiul South African campaigns. He was promoted to the rank of major in 1911, and was twice mentioned in dispatches for South African services.
