BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS.

MEETING OF. PROTEST. rress As«ociation. WELLINGTON, June 22. A meeting of St. Joseph's Branch of the Catholic Federation, representing 3000 Catholics, was held last night and passed a resolution protesting against the proposed referendum on the Bible-in-schools question as a violation of the rights of conscience of a large section of citizens, an injustice to teachers, and an iniquitous proposal to tax all people to pay for the teaching of a religion acceptable to certain denominations only and utterly obnoxious to others.
