A NATIYE I!* TROUBLE. Press Association. AUCKLAND, fune 20. At the Supreme Court to-day an educated young Maori,»Tai Heketa, was charged with forgery. He admitted having squandered about £IOOO, and when funds were low he entered in his own writing a deposit of £SOO in his Savings Bank book. Judge Stringer placed the accused on two years' probation, with an order to refund the money obtained by false pretences and pay the costs and refrain from*visiting races or billiards saloons during the period of probation. Albert Gordon Smith, who committed burglaries at Auckland; last Christmas, and was found in possession of the stolen property in Christchurch, was declared an habitual criminal and sentenced to five years' 'imprisonment, to be concurrent with- Christchurch sentence. : '
