SOUTH ISLAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. The half yearly meeting of the South Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association was held yesterday. The president (Mr E. J. Ross) was in the chair, and fourteen delegates were present. Mr J. M. Thomson, president of the North Island Association, was also present. The report of the council mentioned that a number of fanciers who had exhibited at unaffiliated shows, and who had applied for reinstatement, had, after careful enquiry, been reinstated. Affiliated societies were urged to apply at the annual meeting of the association for their show dates to avoid clashing. Nineteen societies and clubs had paid their subscriptions, and three others had applied for show dates. The balance-sheet showed that, ineluding a credit balance of £4O 1/11 brought forward from the previous year, receipts had been £9l 11/7, and the expenditure £3B 12/-, leaving a credit balance of £52 19/7. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The meeting dealt with a number of remits which had been passed by the North Island Association, a-Jid it was resolved, in accordance with the recommendations of the Council, that both associations should endeavour to arrange show dates, and that the championships offered for competition by each association should be open to all bona fide members of -and clubs affiliated to the other."
It was agreed to enter, into several working arrangements with the North Island body in regard to disqttalifica ticns, official pigeon rings, and inter - changes of information. • • -
