''- .; In the Garrison Hall this evening, the Prime Minister addressed a crowded house, on* a large . number of political . questions, his speech being mainly on '* ]the lines of those delivered by him if, 4'' the south earlier in the week. He, oufc lined the programme of the coming session, as in his Invercargill speech, pror mising, among other things, amendments v in the industrial law, .and also in the licensing law, electoral law,/ and in the. Education Act. Mr Massey also pro-' . mised further legislation; to encourage ' '/' the fruit industry. He said- an Asiatic m " Immigration Bill would be brought down ■■ which would stop immigration of Asir atics to this country. "~\ A motion of thanks and confidence, ' and pledging the meeting to support the > Massey Govenwncnt, was proposed* and seconded. An amendment ;of thanks to Mi Massey for his address, but expressing disapproval of, the tactics adopted by the Goveninicut'.to "capture the Treasnry - benches, "as such were calculated' to demoralise- party politics, '■' was proposed, but the motion was carried by a very large majority.
