LONDON WOOL -SALES.

At the wool sales the following prices were realised for the fleece portions of the New Zealand clips named: —Lakes, top 12d, average lljd; Wharanui, top 13£ d, average llSd; Merciston, top 12id, average Hid; Wairere, top lid, average 10fd; Kau, top 12M, average llfd.
At a meeting of the Colonial Wool Merchants' Association it was decided not to limit the fourth series. (Received May 14, 9.50 a.m.) At the wool sales the Continental demand is slack, American being very dull, owing to the Mexican trouble. WHEAT. The wheat market is easier. The American visible supply is 70,543,000 bushels. MISCELLANEOUS. Silver —2/2g per ounce. Bar gold—77/9. Copper—Spot £63 5/-, three months £63 15/-; electrolytic £65 10/-. Tin—Spot £153 5/-, three months £155 5/-. MOUNT LYELL RETURNS. (Received May 14, 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 14. The half-yearly report of the Mount Lyell company to March 31 shows that the net profit was £61,954. The ore reserves at Mount Lyell total tons, and at North Lyell 125,651 tons. It is expected that the Lake Margaret lower scheme will be available at the end of September.

Sales: Waihi £2 2/6, Junction £1 6/-. OHINEMURI GOLD AND SILVER MINES. An abridgement of the prospectus of the Ohinemuri Gold and Silver Mines, Limited, is published on page 11 of this issue. It is a convincing sort of document, and the promoters are so thoroughly satisfied with the proposition that they invite investors to visit and inspect the mines for themselves, and obtain the fullest information before putting up their money. Extracts from Mr E. F. Adams's report on "the property are given in the prospectus, and indicate that he has absolute faitli in the payableness of the mines.
